Do you ever think about why anyone really looks for ghosts?  Have you ever had anyone look at you like you were a little crazy for even bringing it up?

 

I think unless they have experienced that quick shadow in their room, hear the sly whisper or feel a brush against their hand, they just don’t understand.

 

But I think it’s more than that.  I think it’s about knocking on a door to see what’s on the other side and really, probably being scared when the door opens.  Because who knows what might be there.  It means being a brave soul who looks at what’s beyond here and now. 

 

So is hunting the right term? 

This will be my first time as an “official Ghost Hunter”.  I have signed up as a student in the Ghost Hunter University classes 101 and 102 at the Hotel Vendome in Prescott, Arizona.  If you’re like me and wondered how the ghost hunting works, I will reveal all on January 11, 2009.  I promise full disclosure.

 There are a few requirements to bring (besides the attendance fee), a digital camera, a voice recorder, a video recorder and EMF meters.  I found a site for the EMF recorders and will let you know how they work and what the service was like.

 

I’m excited to return and see if the Abby the ghost who haunts this Bed and Breakfast remembers me.  I stayed there a few years ago and had a little chat with her, now it could have looked like I was talking to myself but really I wasn’t.

 

I’ll save that experience for tomorrow, have to order that EMF.

Who would be your Past Present and Future Ghosts?  Is it only at Christmas that you think about what you’ve done all year?

 

Well I think it’s depressing.  I lived with a ghost for eight years, not once did that damn ghost speak up.  It was constant walking, walking and more walking up and down my bedroom hall, from the kitchen window to the living room window.  What gives?

 

Could I have communicated with it?  Yea I know I didn’t think of the tape recorder until after we moved.  Although I really did want to ask the new owners did they hear it too?  They didn’t last long in that house and now their divorced.

 

Back to Christmas, I found a website that offers ghost tours http://www.frightnights.co.uk/home/

 

They offer three special ghost tours for Christmas, one hitch, their in England but the site looks interesting and reliable.  Check it out.

Jerome has a very big history for a small mining town perched on the side of a mountain.

You’ll notice one minute you’re on the road and one miss-step later you’re tumbling down a mountain side.  Don’t drink and walk in the dark. In fact don’t walk in the dark without a light at all.  No street lights and very little light anywhere makes it perfect for hunting ghosts. And I’m not sure you’re hunting them, they might be haunting you.

 

We took their advertised Ghost Walk a couple of weeks ago, fund raiser for the Historical Society, good fun and well performed.  But as we followed the performers I had a sense of background watchers around corners or when peering into abandoned buildings.  I didn’t have extra time that night to check things out and have decided we’re booking an overnight stay soon to devote a full night hunt.

 

I did find out something interesting when I asked the Ghost City Inn B&B if they had ghosts in the rooms, they said they have lots of sightings but don’t advertise them for fear of driving off customers.
